I had these two paintable ceramic jars and I have been thinking what to do with them for a while. I didn’t have too much time, so I decided to create a quick and easy decoration with Decorative Painting on ceramic. I really liked the result, so I told to myself: I should do a free pattern for the people who will visit my new website!!!
And so, that’s it… here is a Free Pattern… a little present for you!
This is a very easy project to do, above all if you are a beginner of Tole Painting. With this design, you can learn the Decorative Painting basic techniques, as well as how to paint with acrylics and also something more! I will also explain you how to paint on paper!
Painting on paper is something I started to do quite recently, and I really like it, because it gives a really wonderful and dynamic effect to the final result. The painting technique is pretty much the same, but there are some tricks to know…therefore I thought a free pattern was a nice gift to do!
First of all, to paint this design, I used DecoArt Americana acrylics and Tim Holz Tissue Paper, but don’t worry… everything is explained in the painting instructions pattern!
You can of course paint this design also on another surface, such as wood, tin and, why not, also on glass.
Maybe at this point you might be thinking: “ok, but I have never painted… I don’t know anything about Decorative Painting and acrylics…”
No problem!!!
On my YouTube channel, there are some short tutorials where I show you exactly what you need to do, for example how to make floats for shading or highlighting and also what are the tricks you need to know to paint on paper!
Ok, I have to tell you though that painting, like many other creative hobbies, needs practice… so don’t get frustrated or discouraged… just keep on practicing and try again!
